Home office deduction for remote workers — what qualifies and how to calculate it
27
I work remotely full-time for a company based in another state. I use my spare bedroom exclusively as my home office. Can I deduct home office expenses on my taxes? I've heard conflicting information — one accountant said W-2 employees can't deduct home office expenses since the 2017 tax law changes, but another said there's a way. Is there any benefit for W-2 remote workers? What about the simplified method vs regular method?
