Disability insurance and mental health claims — what's actually covered?
25
I'm considering LTD insurance but I've heard that mental health claims (depression, anxiety, burnout) are often limited to 2 years of benefits while physical disabilities get benefits to age 65. Is this standard across all policies? Are there carriers that treat mental health claims the same as physical? As someone with a family history of depression, this distinction matters to me. Are substance abuse claims treated the same way?
