Medicare Open Enrollment vs Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment — what's the difference?
22
Every year I get bombarded with Medicare enrollment period mailers and I can't keep them straight. What's the difference between the Medicare Open Enrollment Period (Oct 15-Dec 7) and the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (Jan 1-Mar 31)? What changes can I make during each one? Can I switch from Medicare Advantage to Original Medicare during either period? What about switching Part D plans?
