Social Security spousal benefits — can my wife claim based on my record while I delay?
38
I'm 66 (full retirement age) and my wife is 64. I plan to delay Social Security until 70 to maximize my benefit. Can my wife claim spousal benefits based on my record while I wait? I thought the 'file and suspend' and 'restricted application' strategies were eliminated by the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015. What options do we actually have for maximizing our combined Social Security benefits?
