How do I stop lifestyle creep — we make more money but never feel ahead
41
My household income has grown from $80k to $160k over 8 years but we don't feel any richer. Our spending just expanded to match — bigger house, nicer cars, more eating out, premium everything. I want to reverse this. What are practical strategies to combat lifestyle creep? Should I automate savings to 'hide' raises from myself? How do other higher-income families keep spending under control while still enjoying their money?
