The psychology of spending — why do I buy things I don't need?
33
I'm good at earning but terrible at controlling impulse spending. I have $180k in income but only $25k in savings at 38. I buy things on Amazon at 2am, order takeout when I have food at home, upgrade my phone every year. Logically I know this is destructive but I can't seem to stop. Has anyone successfully changed their relationship with spending? What strategies work beyond just 'make a budget'? Is this something a therapist helps with?
