Individual disability insurance exclusions — what do they typically not cover?
19
I'm reviewing an individual LTD policy and the exclusions section is concerning. It excludes: self-inflicted injuries, war/acts of war, commission of a felony, normal pregnancy (complications are covered), and pre-existing conditions (with a lookback period). Are there other exclusions I should watch for? What about hazardous hobbies — I rock climb and ski. Do I need to disclose those? Can they deny a claim if I'm injured doing a hobby they didn't know about?
