Paying off debt vs investing — how to decide when the math isn't clear
31
I have $28k in student loans at 4.5% interest and $15k in a car loan at 2.9%. I also have $60k in savings and I'm currently investing 15% of my income in my 401k (getting the employer match). Should I pay off the loans aggressively or keep investing? The 4.5% student loan rate is in that gray area where it's not obviously high or low. How do I make this decision? I'm 29 and hate having debt.
