What questions should I ask a financial advisor before hiring them?
46
I'm 45 with $600k in retirement savings and I think I need professional help with a comprehensive financial plan. I've interviewed 3 advisors: one is fee-only (charges $2,500 for a plan), one charges 1% AUM, and one is 'free' (commission-based). What specific questions should I ask each one to determine who's truly acting in my best interest? How do I verify their credentials? What's a reasonable fee?
