Health insurance for college students — stay on parents plan or get school insurance?
14
My daughter is starting college out of state this fall. She's on our family health insurance (PPO with national network). The university also offers a student health plan for $2,400/year. Is the student plan worth it as supplemental coverage? What happens if she needs non-emergency care while away at school — does our family PPO cover out-of-state providers? What about mental health services on campus?
