How to build a simple 3-fund portfolio — and should I add anything to it?
26
I keep reading about the Bogleheads 3-fund portfolio: total US stock market, total international stock market, and total bond market. This seems almost too simple. For a 35-year-old with $200k to invest, what percentages would you recommend? 70% US / 20% international / 10% bonds? Should I add a REIT fund or small-cap value tilt? At what age or portfolio size does it make sense to add complexity beyond 3 funds?
